Anoushka's Yoga provides private and group yoga classes, and specifically yoga courses, in Earlsfield. The classes are taught by professionally trained and established yoga teachers who provide yoga classes according to the needs of the student.
Tish is the main teacher and primary contact. As a movement and gait (walking) therapist her classes are tailored to suit your needs. She will watch how you move rather than push you into standard positions, thereby making the practice one that you really need and can grow from. The courses also mean you will see real progression in your practice that will hopefully become life changing and much more than a practice where you just touch your toes (or try too!). Classes are really personal where we get energized, shape up, smile and maybe laugh, and enjoy a delicious relaxation.
Ideally everyone would have tailored private yoga classes but we understand this is not always practical or affordable. Tish's yoga classes bring yoga into the everyday, with a deep awareness of how you move, breathe and even think. If you are looking for private classes pleae contact us.
We also run international yoga retreats as featured in Yoga Magazine, The Obersver and Grazia. Yoga retreats with Tish include yoga, meditation, gait therapy and massage. For more info click here
The classes were started by Yoga Therapist, Anoushka Emeson in 2003. Anoushka has sinced moved on and Tish Dodson took over in 2008, continuing to teach in Anoushka's well known, down to earth style and bringing in her understanding of gait therapy.
Tish has trained in various different styles of yoga to be able to bring to her classes what the student requires on that given day, from a vibrant active practice to a gentle receptive style. Her training in Gait Therapy with 'Anatomy in Motion' gives her a deeper anatomical knowledge of 3D movement, so she can spot what each student needs from their practice.
What we do
Hatha yoga to
stimulate the physical body, relax
the mind and feel rejuvenated. Hatha Yoga
essentially means the practice of physical
postures (asanas), breathing techniques and meditation. We offer small classes
in Earlsfield from an active 'yang' vinyasa flow practice or power yoga practice, to
a receptive 'yin' practice to achieve overall
balance in the body and mind. Part of the class includes dynamic movement to work through your full range of motion and another part, deep relaxation. Essentially the relaxing way to complete health.
We hold classes of 18 people or less. Students usually join a course, which is one class per week, to save their space each week, progress quickly and receive the benefits of a regular yoga practice. Each course has a particular theme making classes different each week with progression from the previous class. We run 4 courses per year with short breaks inbetween. To guarantee the benefits of a yoga practice, courses are the best option, but you can also drop in.

What people say about us
Our style
We understand that there is no one way to practice yoga and therefore call ourselves a Hatha
Yoga school which encompasses many of the well
known styles of yoga such as Sivananda, Power
yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yoga, 3D Yoga.....an eclectic mix
to suit you.
There are many different styles of yoga. Hatha yoga
is the physical practice of yoga and encourages the development of physical, mental and spiritual well-being in a way that suits you.
Beginners
Our beginner’s classes loosely follow the Sivananda
sequence, with a 3D twist. The Sivananda sequence is a set sequence of postures
designed for energetic balance and to make you
feel great. The repetition of poses and breathing techniques is very beneficial for beginners to become comfortable with the practice. Then we move on to see how the
same basic postures can be used in a way that
best accomplishes your intention for your yoga
practice and variations for a creative practice.
The poses and yoga sequences are taught with a
deep knowledge of optimal body alignment and
tools for personal transformation, moving you
towards stillness within the mind through
mindfulness.
The unique approach to Anoushka’s yoga is to make classes accessible and fun and allow you to understand how yoga can work for you. After a beginners cousre you will have enough knowledge to practice any style of yoga and develop your own home practice.
Class Structure: We have a theme to each class to give students a tangible journey. Each class
then revolves around the theme to demonstrate
the versatility of yoga and deepen your practice.
The class will take you through the key elements
of yoga including posture and alignment, dynamic and passive stretching,
strength, flexibility, balance, stress relief,
relaxation and meditation and heightened
consciousness. Each class ends with deep
relaxation, meditation and maybe some gentle
massage.
Students are encouraged to question
their practice and teachings.
Anoushka’s Yoga has small classes enabling you
to truly understand how yoga works for you.
