Gait Therapy

Gait Therapy

Gait therapy is a form of movement/physical therapy based around what you do naturally every day i.e. walking (gait). Your ability whilst walking affects every type of movement you have available to you, whether it be yoga, running, football, tennis etc. Unfortunately we don't always move the way we are designed to, and various imbalances creep in coupled with tension. The body is amazing and compensates for what we take it through, or what we don't, but sometimes the imbalance is just too much and pain results. There is a way to enhance the way you move, or as a client said recently 'use less energy' when you walk, run, practice yoga. And there is a way to correct imbalances and take away any pain present. It is such an efficient form of therapy as it incorporates what you do naturally all the time.

Would you like to move more efficiently? Are you having any problems with back pain, foot, knee, hip problems? Tish is an AiM (Anatomy in Motion) practitioner using revolutionary techniques to enhance performance involving movement or ease or completely eliminate movement problems quickly and efficiently, through the way you walk. The technique uses 3d movement to subconsciously change the way your body moves and break through any physical barriers.

Through AiM techniques we bring the body back to centre by correcting poor gait habits. You literally walk out of the session with improved posture and improved function across the whole body. That means you can walk yourself out of physical pain. Sessions massively benefit how you perform in other exercise such as running, football etc. and, of course yoga. Because you walk all of the time, every move you make in your walk, translates to anything else you do. Have you ever wondered why a yoga pose may be harder on one side to another? or perhaps you just don't like certain yoga poses? Potentially there may be an imbalance in the body that is also present in your walk and by correcting your walk you re-balance.
